Tip 1: Print out your design
If you have a particularly intricate design, print a copy of what you’re weeding. That way, you can see exactly what needs to be removed and what is actually part of the design.
Tip 2: Cut with the Carrier Side Down and the Adhesive Side Up
Be sure to place the shiny side of the HTV down on the cutting mat before you cut.
Tip 3: Easy Weed – Make a Box
Section off designs with weeding boxes or cut lines. This technique will make the weeding process easier.
Tip 4: Use a good light
Speaking of lighting, find a good, bright light to weed under.
Tip 5: Weed faster on a warm surface
Weeding on top of the heated area allows the heat transfer vinyl to peel away from the carrier even easier than before. However, this trick only works for products with a sticky carrier.
