Tip 6: Start in the upper left

That… if you are right-handed. If you are left-handed, start in the upper right. By starting in the upper left, you can weed down and across. If you start in the lower right, your arm then comes in contact with the sticky backing paper you’ve already weeded and it becomes a sticky mess.

Tip 7: Use a piece of vinyl for scraps

Keep a cleaner work area – no fancy tools required! Take a piece of regular adhesive vinyl, and place it sticky-side up on your mat. Use it to collect the small weeded scrap pieces of your project — double-sided tape works well, as well.

Tip 8: Always double check

Once you’re done, hold your project up to the light to make sure you haven’t missed any pieces!

Tip 9: Press hot iron in sections

For large areas, DO NOT SLIDE THE IRON. It is best to press, lift, and press again.

Tip 10: Use high-quality HTV

Choose Siser, currently recognised as a leading company in the production of heat-transfer materials for applications on fabrics.

So it’s time to take everything you’ve learned and apply it to your next project!
